The Cottage Farmstand

What is The Cottage and who runs it? These are questions we have been getting a lot over the past few months! The short answer is that we (Kierra and Kyra) wanted a sustainable way to be able to create and do our hobbies like baking, crafting, and more! Thus, The Cottage was born. Kyra started making sourdough in October of 2023 and has been learning and working on making amazing loaves ever since. She has always been super creative and crafty and has been doing tons of grandma hobbies since we were like 15, so she is definitely the brains and the brawn behind this project. I (Kierra) got my cricut on the Nellis Auction (an online auction to get returned items) in the summer of 2023. It was my new hyper-fixation hobby and I swore up and down that I would find a way to make the money I spend on it back to make it worth it. It was DEFINITELY worth it!

One random day in July 2024, Kyra messaged me and suggested we create a farm-stand so I could sell things like farm fresh eggs and extra produce (my husbands grandma hobby is gardening), and so that she could make as much sourdough as she wanted and it wouldn´t rot on her counter-top. We headed to pinterest to come up with ideas for building the perfect stand. We created a plan and presented it to our husbands (Garrett and Michael) and they agreed to make it happen. We obtained a trailer donation (shout out to Abbott Services) and then handed it over to the boys to make it happen. They definitely went in a different direction than our original plan, but it came out perfect!

While the boys worked on our stand, we worked on getting our licensing together. Once both were finished, we started creating our first products! We started with jams, bread, muffins, cookies, graphic vinyl tumblers, and more.

We have had such an overwhelmingly positive response from our local community and we appreciate you guys so much! A massive thank you to each and every person who has supported our small business and has taken the time to check out our products and buy things from us! We have so many ideas for The Cottage and cannot wait to share them with you!
